Bloober Team, founded in 2008, is handling the development for the Silent Hill 2 remake, the same studio who developed Layers of Fear and The Medium.

There is no word yet on its release date although the game is now listed on Steam for wishlist signups. The Silent Hill 2 is slated for PS5 and PC for the first 12 months post release.

Original creators of Silent Hill 2 including concept artist Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, are part of the remake’s development to “ensure the unique Silent Hill atmosphere intact.”

The Silent Hill F seems to be set in Japan as we get to see a bunch of red spider lilies that symbolizes death and are widely used in anime, and of course the Japanese architecture. Those with trypophobia, be warned of the video trailer below:

The original Silent Hill 2 is released way back in 2001, twenty years later, it’s now making a comeback on modern systems. Seemed long overdue to hear an update for the Silent Hill franchise but it is indeed good news for long-time fans who get to relive the horror in greater detail.
