Alongside the latest V1.5 update, miHoYo showcased the PS5 support features for their open-world action RPG title, Genshin Impact.
Coming on April 28, the PS5 version will run in native 4K resolution with enhanced textures and offer a smoother and more seamless adventure experience for new and existing Travelers, miHoYo claims.
Technical Director Zhenzhong Yi revealed key ways in which Genshin Impact has been upgraded that fully takes advantage of the PlayStation 5 platform.
The PS5 version will boast enhanced textures and a new graphics library has been created from scratch, which adds a new depth of detail to the game. Additionally, miHoYo mentioned that the game achieves much faster loading times to offer a seamless adventure traversing the vast and diverse in-game environments due to the SSD equipped in the PlayStation 5. Moreover, speaking of environments, players will be able to enjoy an exclusive view of a remodeled Qingyun Peak in Liyue.
Confirmed by miHoYo, they have plans to support DualSense Controller features of the PlayStation 5.
“We’ve been working to develop various functions to fully utilize this next-gen console in the long run,” said Zhenzhong Yi, Technical Director of miHoYo. “In future updates, we will have much more potential to elevate the visual quality and game performance — we are only scratching the surface,” Yi added.
Genshin Impact will come to PlayStation 5 on April 28, 2021, coinciding with the game’s version 1.5 update release.
Genshin Impact can be downloaded for free on PS4 and PS5 from the PlayStation Store, on Android from Google Play, on iOS from the App Store, and on PC from the official Genshin Impact website.
