With all the trailers, sneak peeks, and official announcements in the last year, 2020 is an exciting year for gaming. The PS5 and Xbox Series X are coming out, the next-generation PC parts, and of course, new games. So here’s our list of games that we from the Yugatech Team are all excited for.
Table of Contents
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt Red’s latest action RPG. It takes place in a futuristic, dystopian open world with six distinct regions. Players take the role of V, a highly customizable cyborg with different skills, weapons, and playstyles to choose from. What’s even more exciting is that Keanu Reeves plays a part in the game too. It will be released on Windows, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One on April 16, 2020.
Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal is the latest title from the Doom franchise. It’s a first-person shooter where players take the role of a warrior sending demonic forces back to hell. The adrenaline pumping shooter comes out March 20, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and Windows with plans of a Nintendo Switch release shortly after.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
If you’ve been a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, then this game needs no introduction. But for new players looking to get into it, Final Fantasy 7 is an action RPG where players take the role of Cloud, an ex Shinra SOLDIER who joins the opposition to put a stop to Shinra’s operation. Final Fantasy 7 is a PS4 exclusive and is set to launch on March 3, 2020.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the popular free-roam and open-world survival horror action RPG Dying Light. Players take the role of Aiden Caldwell, who, like Kyle Crane from the first title, has some serious parkour skills. Players can expect to fight off the undead on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One in Spring 2020.
The Last of Us 2
The original Last of Us was recognized as the Game of the Year for the PS3 by many. It featured great gunplay, stealth mechanics, crafting, and, most of all, an amazing story that captivated its players. In its second installment, players take the role of Ellie, the same kid from the first installment that Joel saved. The Last of Us 2 is a PS4 exclusive set for release on May 29, 2020.
League of Legends Wild Rift
This year Riot is releasing its own mobile MOBA game for both Android and iOS. It’s very similar to its desktop MOBA, with optimizations for mobile play. Its beta should roll out this year, and the full global release is scheduled by the end of 2020.
Riot Project A
Another Riot Games title that we’re excited for is the release of Project A: a character-based tactical first-person shooter. From their sneak peek, the game looks like it has the gunplay of CS: GO, with skills and team composition elements like Overwatch. While Riot didn’t release a lot of details during its announcement, we hope to try the game this year.
