Sony has introduced a new system software update to all PlayStation 5 players that will now see it support 1440p HDMI video output and many more features.
The 1440p support in the PS5 will require a TV or monitor that supports 1440p/60Hz or 1440p/60Hz and 120Hz.
However, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) on the PS5 will still only have support for 1080p and 4K video output but not 1440p.
There are also now Gamelists that act as folders to help users organize games on their PS5. Users can now create up to 15 gamelists and add up to 100 games per gamelist.
Users can now also compare the difference between 3D and Stereo Audio on the same screen and choose their preferred setting.
Other features that were introduced in the PS5’s newest software update include YouTube Search through Voice Command (Preview). This means users can now search by saying “Hey PlayStation, find [keyword] on YouTube.”. But this feature is only available in English for PS5 players with accoutns registered to the U.S. or U.K.
