Table of Contents
One of the best strategy games out right now, Total War: Three Kingdoms is a turn-based strategy real-time tactics game set in 190 AD China. Just like other RTS games, Age of Empires, Starcraft, and the other Total War games come to mind; Three Kingdoms gives us 12 factions to choose from. With those factions, your one goal is to eliminate the other factions in order to become the one true ruler of China.
The gameplay and combat should be familiar to those who are familiar with RTS games, wherein you train units and create the strongest army possible and eliminate the other factions. In this game, you are given generals to recruit and lead those units to victory. RTS fans should have no problem getting into this game, and newcomers should be able to easily get into it as well.
Having played both Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4, and skipped on 5, I was ecstatic to see that it had finally made it on Game Pass. Far Cry 5 is a little bit different from the rest, as instead of being stuck on a remote island, you’re instead a police officer in the fictional Hope County in Montana, United States. You’re then tasked to take down the cult leader of Eden’s Gate, Joseph Seed.
However, just like other Far Cry games, Far Cry 5 offers you countless things to do in the game. Whether it’s grinding for crafting materials, or taking down each outpost to open up the map. You’re looking at an easy 18 hours of gameplay here, and even more if you’re a completionist. If you’ve enjoyed the previous Far Cry games, you’ll most likely enjoy this one.
Probably my favorite one on the list, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was a highly anticipated game when it was first announced last year. Now that it’s finally been released, it’s safe to say that the hype definitely reached its expectation. Aside from one or two games, the TMNT games all been beat em up games, and this one is no different. Shredder’s Revenge allows you and 5 more of your friends to team up and beat each stage until you reach the main boss of the game, Shredder.
Overall TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a fantastic party game for 6 people, making the screen a chaotic mess in the best sense. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is also available to play on Xbox, PS5, and Switch. But if you alread have Game Pass, might as well play it on there.
The NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection provides us gamers with 3 Ninja Gaiden Sigma games, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s edge, giving us 3 games that feature high speed ninja action. If you’re a fan of the Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive games, expect this collection of games to help you fill that void. In addition, the game features a good number of different characters and weapons which makes its combat even more unique and versatile.
One drawback from this collection however, is that the multiplayer that originally came with these games have been removed, so if you were planning to be ninjas with your friends, unfortunately you’re out of luck. But if that isn’t a problem for you, or you prefer playing solo, then you’re all set.
Now that we’re done talking ninjas, we now move on to assassins. Assassin’s Creed Origin was the first Assassin’s Creed game to focus more on the open-world rather than, well, being an assassin, Origins’ open-world contains a beautifully detailed landscape of Ancient Egypt with every area of the map feeling unique and different from other areas. Despite it straying away from traditional Assassins’ games, the combat is still somewhat similar, and just as satisfying as the rest.
Without spoiling too much of a great story, you play as Bayek, a Medjay who is charged with protecting the Siwa Oasis, and the story takes off from there. To make it a little bit more enticing, we also get appearances from the likes of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar.
