If you have played Terraria before, you might’ve seen this game suggested to you. Spiritfarer is an indie management sim and sandbox action game. Developed by Thunder Lotus Games, the player takes the role of Stella, a ferry master who must sail the sea to find spirits and grant their wish to pass to the afterlife. Oh, and you have your adorable pet cat, Daffodil, who accompanies you on this journey. Even though the topic of the afterlife is often looked over, this game has a wonderful and warm take on it—quite refreshing if I do say so myself.

Immerse yourself in this World War II first-person shooter in a massive 100 person lobby. The game’s objective is to win, duh, either as Axis or Allied power with 13 different roles to choose from, ranging from Commander to Sniper spotter. Although this is just a game, it is still terrifying when the enemy commander calls a bomb run on your position—when that begins, you have to run like hell! Hell Let Loose was released back in 2019 but is still receiving updates, its recent one being Update 9.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of its popular 2002 game entitled Mafia. The Definitive edition reimagines the original game’s setting of Lost Heaven during the 1930s. Like many open-world games, Mafia allows its players to explore the city of Lost Haven as Tommy Angelo, who was hurled into the life of organized crime. Engage in modern, yet noir-esque shootouts and car chases as players complete the story in a non-linear format.

Get ready to face off with both foe and monster in this competitive first-person horror shooter game. Hunt: Showdown offers three game modes which consist of PvP, PvE, and PvPvE, which involves bounty hunters searching for their target, that vary from Butcher, Spiders, or the Scrapbeak. It doesn’t end with the monster target but includes a map full of lesser monsters that act as a horrific roadblock to keep things interesting. If you are unsure of running solo, the game allows gameplay of teams of two to three, so you and your friends can share the exhilaration of the hunt.

Let’s take a step away from the setting of earth and into space, shall we? The Outer Worlds is an action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment that takes place in the vast solar system. Its aesthetic, gameplay, and story progression have hints of Fallout, and Oblivion mixed into it—providing a great deal of nostalgia and, well, excitement. So if you want to take a step back into a different zone, make choices that affect you and your companions; the Outer Worlds is the game for you.

Now, if you don’t want to mash a bunch of buttons and instead long for something relaxing, Atri -My Dear Moments- would be your pick. This Visual novel, developed by Front wing, brings players into the setting where most of the world is underwater. The visual novel holds breathtaking art, soothing music, and expressive characters to engage with. I highly recommend playing this at 2 am because it hits differently, you know (single tear).

If you are looking for something to play with your friends, maybe vent out some frustrations, you should definitely check out Pummel Party. This arcade-like game features an array of absurd and intense minigames as each player fight for the crown either on the board itself or from the dozens of minigames. The game allows 1 to 8 players for both online and local lobbies and holds different maps with their own sick twists. If someone gets hold of the cute bunny, you better hope it ain’t after you.
