SEGA acquires Rovio for USD 776 million

SEGA has successfully purchased Rovio, the developers of Angry Bird. The mobile developer company was acquired for USD 776 million.

According to SEGA’s CEO Haruki Satomi, she stated that “the mobile gaming market has especially high potential, and it has been Sega’s long-term goal to accelerate its expansion in this field.”

Besides acquiring the Angry Birds franchise, Sega also has mobile games such as Small Town Murders and Sugar Blast.

With this, we may expect the blue hedgehog together with the mad red bird in one game soon.
