The One Ring card, which is a one-of-a-kind card, officially has a new owner. It is bought by American rapper Post Malone for USD 2 million.
The One Ring card is part of Magic: The Gathering’s collaboration with J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth that includes characters and items in Tolkien’s story.
The main lore of The Lord of the Rings (TLotR) is the One Ring which the story revolves around. Its inscription etched around the band translates to, “One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them. One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.”
Because of this, Wizards of the Coast have made a promotional card for this collaboration and, to stay true to the story, it has no duplicates.
Brook Trafton is the first to find the card, but now the One Ring card’s owner is Post Malone, an American rapper. Malone has purchased the card from Trafton for 2 million dollars.
“This is my dream come true. Meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. Post Malone, Magic: The Gathering, you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful,” Trafton stated.
