HoYoverse has officially announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.7, titled “A Space and Time for You,” will release on June 18, 2025. This update introduces new characters, significant story progressions, and fresh gameplay features across all platforms.
The highlight of Version 5.7 is the introduction of Skirk, a 5-star Cryo sword user and the 100th playable character in the game. Known as Tartaglia’s enigmatic master, Skirk brings a unique dual-combat style that allows her to switch between sustained Cryo damage and powerful area attacks. Her abilities utilize a special resource called Serpent’s Subtlety, generated through her skills and talents, rather than traditional elemental energy. Skirk’s gameplay is optimized when paired with Hydro and Cryo teammates, enhancing her damage output and boosting allies’ elemental skills.
Accompanying Skirk is Dahlia, a 4-star Hydro support character and Deacon of the Church of Favonius. Dahlia offers a renewable shield through his Elemental Burst, which can be reactivated using Normal Attacks or Freeze reactions. His abilities also increase team attack speed and provide additional utility in combat.
The update’s Archon Quest, “A Space and Time for You,” continues the saga of the Traveler twins as they confront the advancing Abyss Order in Natlan. Players will delve deeper into the twins’ intertwined destinies, uncovering hidden truths about Teyvat. Additionally, Skirk’s personal Story Quest, “Crystallina Chapter: Act I,” will be available, offering insights into her mysterious past.
Version 5.7 also introduces “Stygian Onslaught,” a new permanent combat mode featuring rotating bosses and six escalating difficulty levels. Players can earn valuable rewards, including Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wit, and a new item called Dust of Enlightenment, which allows for targeted Artifact enhancement. This mode supports both single-player and co-op gameplay, providing a challenging experience for all players.
Additional events include “Battle of Imagined Arrays,” a tactical simulation in Sumeru that offers a free invite for the character Sethos upon completion. The “Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter” event features lighthearted interactions with characters like Thoma and Neuvillette, adding depth to the game’s narrative.
Quality-of-life improvements are also part of the update. Players can now directly use Fragile Resin to claim tripled rewards, and new game resource plans tailored to player progress will be available on mobile platforms.
Character Event Wishes for Version 5.7 are divided into two phases. Phase I features Skirk, Dahlia, and Shenhe, while Phase II introduces the Pyro Archon Mavuika and Emilie. Skirk’s signature weapon, Azurelight, will be available during Phase I, alongside Shenhe’s Calamity Queller.
