Elder Scrolls: Blades coming to iOS and Android this Fall 2018

Bethesda is fully pushing their Elder Scrolls series to mobile as they announce Elder Scrolls: Blades this E3 2018. While not the first Elder Scrolls game to arrive on mobile, thanks to Elder Scrolls: Legends, Blades is the first full-blown RPG for the platform. Best news of all though is that it’s free to play.

Arriving Fall of 2018, Elder Scrolls: Blades hopes to bring the classic RPG feel of the series to mobile. This includes, a vast open-world to explore, items to craft and gather, and of course, gears to collect and equip. Bethesda is bringing in the famous combat mechanic of the Elder Scrolls series, that being a first-person combat view with free movement. What’s interesting is that the game supports both landscape and portrait gaming.

We also have three modes — AbyssArena, and Town. Abyss is an endless dungeon players can challenge and traverse in. The Arena, on the other hand, is a 1 on 1 PVP mode where players battle each other out while the main mode is the Town (the main campaign).

Expect that it won’t be as dynamic as its PC and Console counterparts since controls will be adjusted for touchscreens but free combat is something that hasn’t been fully utilized in mobile yet. Another unique take on the title is that players are tasked with restoring their hometown. This is done by collecting tools and materials and by fully customizing the town. Towns also level up and unlock more options and NPCs.
