Netflix rolls out mobile games for Android

Netflix just announced the availability of games that its subscribers can enjoy for no additional costs.

The video-streaming platform is launching Netflix games on mobile globally. With this, members can play five mobile games: Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop).

By 1 AM tomorrow, Netflix subscribers in the Philippines will be able to see the games tab and games row on the Netflix app. However, those who wish to play the games today may need to go to the app store and download the five available games directly.

To access the games, what you need is a Netflix subscription. With this, there are no ads, no additional fees, and no in-app purchases.

It will be available on Android devices when you log into your Netflix profile. Members on an Android mobile phone will see a dedicated games row and games tab where you can select any game to download, while members on an Android tablet will see a dedicated games row or be able to choose games from the categories drop-down menu to download and play.

According to Netflix, the mobile games are available in various languages they offer on service, so your games will automatically default to the preference set in your Netflix profile. However, if your language is not yet available, games will default to English.

In addition, members will be able to play games on multiple mobile devices on the same account. In case you hit your device limit— the platform will let you know, and, if needed, you can sign out of devices that are not in use or deactivate them remotely on Netflix.com to free up a slot.

Note, however, these games are not available on kids’ profiles. So if you’ve set up a PIN to prevent kids from having access to adult profiles, that same PIN will be required to log in to Netflix and play the game on a device.

Furthermore, some mobile games may require an internet connection, while others will be available to play offline.
