What mobile games are we currently playing? (February 2019)

Being in Team YugaTech, it isn’t a surprise that all of us own smartphones. During our downtime, if we’re not creating articles or streaming videos, we’re immersed in playing mobile games. In this list, we’ll be checking out each team member’s favorite game for the month of February!

Abe Olandres, Editor-in-Chief

For YugaTech’s Boss, Mobile Legends is the game he’s currently hooked on. This game falls under the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre which is why Abe likes it as this reminds him of DoTA (Defense of The Ancients). This also allows him to play with four of his other friends which is more fun than going solo.

Louie Diangson, Managing Editor

Louie plays The Fishercat where the player becomes a cat and uses harpoons to hunt down fishes. He says that he enjoys the game as it reminds him of spearfishing arcade games. The cuteness of the cats is a bonus, too.

Alyza Angeles, Multimedia Producer

Aly is hooked on to two games, Fire Balls 3D and Brawl Stars. A single-tap player game, Fireballs 3D makes its players take control of a ball, moving it around to avoid obstacles. On the other hand, Brawl Stars is a real-time multiplayer game from the makers of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. Aly likes playing Fireballs 3D because of the haptic feedback, while she likes playing Brawl Stars due to it being easy.

Vaughn’s game of choice is Langrisser which is based on the classic console/PC Japanese Role-Playing Game (RPG) that features turn-based battles, real-time PvP, class-based strategic combat, and upgrade paths for each of the characters. Vaughn stated that he likes strategy games, whether real-time or turn-based, where he can think of the best possible scenario/solution to win the match. He’s also playing Mobile Legends because he plays a lot of MOBA games in PC like DoTA, DoTA 2, League of Legends, and Heroes of Newerth.

For Alex, PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator is incredibly addictive. Featuring the highly-popular Youtube personality PewDiePie, the game allows players to create their own Tuber and make online videos to gain subscribers. Ira Arellano, Multimedia Producer

My game of the month is the recently released rhythm game, SuperStar Pledis. The game features the discographies of the K-Pop artists in the company Pledis Entertainment. Since I love rhythm games and I’m also a fan of Seventeen, a boy group under Pledis Ent., SuperStar Pledis is a match made in heaven game for me.

Miguel isn’t into any mobile games at the moment. However, he did play Clash Royale briefly. Published by Supercell, the makers of Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars, Clash Royale is a real-time card-based arena game featuring elements of collectible card game modes and tower defense. He liked playing it as he’s into strategy games and that it allowed him to play with others in real time.
