Michael Unsworth, Rockstar Games’ Vice President of Writing has just left the company after 16 years after his LinkedIn profile had been updated to signify that the long-time Rockstar Games developer has left.
Unsworth has been credited for many of Rockstar Games’ most popular titles such as Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, Grand Theft Auto 4 and 5, Max Payne 3, and L.A.Noire.
“Mike is an accomplished writer who spent over 16 years working for Rockstar Games as a creative lead on some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful video game franchises of all time, most notably Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. He has a deep understanding of interactive storytelling, character development and open-world game design and extensive experience building and managing creative teams.”
According to his profile, he had spent 12 years starting out as a Senior Creative Writer back in 2007 and then spent 2 years as a Writing Director until 2021 when he was promoted to Vice President of Writing.
It is unclear if Unsworth is still part of the team working on Grand Theft Auto 6 as it may be possible that GTA 6 may be his last credit from Rockstar Games.
