Ragnarok M: Eternal Love fast leveling tips

Now that Gravity’s Ragnarok M: Eternal Love (SEA) is on its Open Beta Testing phase, I’ve decided to give it a try since the Ragnarok franchise has been one of my favorite MMORPGs ever since I was a kid. If you are a beginner and are starting from square one, the game may seem a bit confusing due to the high number of things that you can do. Here are basic tips on how you can maximize leveling up your characters without spending a single dime. Check it out!

Questing

This is probably the most obvious tip amongst those in this guide. Story and side quests are scattered all over different parts of the map, especially in towns and cities. However, I suggest that you shouldn’t binge-quest all the way as there’s a more important game mechanic that comes into play in this game.

Saint equipment

The Fantasy Circus Generators contain gacha headgear, equipment, and cards that are good for beginners who don’t have high-powered weapons and armors yet. Aside from the powerful stats that each piece of equipment provides, there’s also an increase in Base EXP gain. You can find the generators near the South Gate of Prontera.

While technically these are premium items (you’ll need to buy cash shop currency to pull), the game is currently handing out free tickets to celebrate it’s Open Beta launch. So in the meantime, it’s still considered as a free method. Each gacha roll for the equipments require 10 pink tickets while the headgears cost 30 blue tickets.

You can get at least 30 pink tickets if you pre-registered by talking to Miu (found in the balcony near Prontera’s lower central area) while more than 30 blue tickets will be provided (will only last until December 1, 2018) by speaking to Tylin (found in the upper central area) and availing the Adventurer Bag reward daily for 5 days.

Monster Resistance Quest

The “Monster Resistance” quest provides 10x your normal exp gain when killing monsters per day. Yes, you read that correctly, you can take this “quest” when you reach level 22. The Messenger Monster Watcher NPC will be present in each main town that you visit so you don’t have to worry about finding him. The catch, however, is that there’s an exp threshold of the increased exp rate that the player can receive during the quest.

Note: The quest can be stackable up to 6 times which means users can stack up to three days worth of exp threshold.

Grinding

This is arguably the most essential system in the game. Grinding monsters will take a lot of time but thanks to the Auto-Attack mechanic, that won’t be much of a problem. The catch, however, is that in order to prevent players from abusing grinding, Gravity implemented a Combat Time system. This system lets users receive normal exp and loot gain under a given time limit of combat. Reaching the limit and going beyond it will activate the system called Combat Fatigue which will gradually decrease the exp and loot rate over time on each character. Here are the rules:

  • When the specified daily combat limit is exceeded, the experience and loot rate will begin to decrease.
  • The combat duration is restored to 300 minutes at 5:00 AM (GMT +7) daily, and the unused combat duration can be accumulated up to a max of 600 minutes. (Maximum total: 900 min).
  • PVP is not included in the combat duration. MINI and MVP are not affected by the rules of loot reduction.
  • If you are in a team during the reduction period, you alone will be bound by the rules of reduction and your Party member will not be affected.
  • If you and your Party members are on the same map, the combat duration will be shared with all Party members in the map.
  • The Mentor who holds a valid Premium can earn 30% of the effective combat duration from different students, up to a maximum of 120 minutes of effective combat duration per day.

Reaching Combat Fatigue is a huge bummer for us players but, we can retrieve some of our Combat time just by listening to the Music Box located at the South Gate of Prontera. To activate it, just press the music box to open the track list. Activating the song will require you to stay in the area where you can hear the music. A maximum of 60 minutes can be recovered which should be plenty enough to grind once more before the day ends.

Note: Anyone can put in a song which can also be heard by everyone in the same area and channel.

Tip: I would rather exhaust my Combat Time first before doing any story-based and side quests, this is because the exp gain from quests isn’t affected by combat fatigue.

Lightning Chain

Lightning Chains are one of the essential boosting items in the game. Using this will amplify your EXP and loot gain as long as you don’t reach Combat Fatigue. You can purchase this in the Event Items shop, just under Miu’s position in Prontera, or acquire it by participating in event quests and rewards.

Tip: Use Lightning Chain when you decide to do the Monster Resistance quest to maximize the exp gain of your character.

Mission Board

Last, but not the least, is the Mission Board which gives tons of EXP. Players can get any posted quests in the board but they can only take up to 10 per day. Again, due to the Open Beta celebration, there are currently board quests that give out twice their normal rewards.

To give you a glimpse, here’s the order of how I do things daily:

  • Grinding (farming for materials) + Lightning Chain (Exhaust Combat Time)
  • Listen to Music Box
  • Grinding
  • Mission Board
  • Monster Resistance Quest
  • Questing

Updated as of 11/05/18.

Important Notes:

  • Daily reset happens every 5:00 AM (GMT +7)
  • Combat Time refreshes 300 minutes daily
  • Mission Board refreshes both in the morning and the afternoon
  • Monster Resistance can be taken up to 2 times daily
  • A lot of combinations can be made to suit your leveling routines so don’t be afraid to experiment to fit your taste.

And that’s it! I hope this boosts your leveling and grinding knowledge in the game. If you have more tips, tricks, and suggestions, leave them in the comments section below. See you in the game!

      • Hi kemberlu, mas okay ho mag monster resistance after maubos ang combat time mo 🙂

  3. tanong lang po, is there a way to recharge in game? problema kasi nasa Italy ako kaya di ako makakita ng recharge para sa mga credit/debit card

  4. Is the premium only available for 1 character? not the whole account? i tried making an alt character on the same account but there was no premium on my alt,i guess the premium only works with the character that was used to purchase the said premium card. . .

    • exactly, the premium will be available only with the character you used to buy the premium.

  5. When do you do rifts??

    • You can do rifts after exhausting your Combat Time 🙂

    • Do rifts after Mission Board Quests (instant) and before you exhaust Combat Time. I noticed that the loots drop drastically while doing rifts when it’s exhausted. Lightning Chains doubles the drops and materials when grinding.

  7. which is better, gacha saint weapon or weapon from city’s craft npc?
    (For level 50++)
Untill what level gacha saint weapon (or eq) is good to wear?

    • That will depend on the need of your character and the effect of your weapon. I am still currently wearing mine and I plan to use a crafted weapon if I reach around 80+ and go hunting for MVP monsters.

  8. Hi Vaughn,

    Thanks

    • Pwede mo pong i-observe yung overall combat time sa options.

  9. So is the VIP subscription for the account or character only?

    • Haven’t tried it yet, unfortunately.

  10. Guys pls help .. mag damag na nag extracting yung application ko. bakit kaya? nag uninstall nko pero gnun parin.. meron ba problem ung application?

  11. Hi,

Any idea? O_O

    • Hi Khalil, 5am (GMT+7) yung nakalagay sa loob ng game which means 6am ang reset satin since GMT+8 tayo 🙂

  12. Hi. Question lang po
Ang unang gagawin po is mag lighting chain habang nag grigrind. Tapos ubusin yung combat time then after than listen sa music then bulletin then resistance then quest. Tama po ba

    • Hi Mark, Pagkatapos po makinig sa musuic box, pwede ho ulit kayong mag grind for another hour or diretso resistance na 🙂 Depende ho kung gano karami ang free time niyo sa paglalaro rin 😀

  14. Currently doing a quest from the board and this Coal thing is such a pain in the ass. Any suggestions buddy?

    • Use lightning chains to acquire twice of the coals whenever you get one. Patience is the key for the most part 🙂

    Thanks

    • Pwede po muna kayo mag questing to reach that level.

  16. Pano po magrind ng mabilis ung level 10-22

  17. How much mobile data does the game consumes?

    • Whenever I play, it goes as much as 30kbps.

  18. Hello sir, any tips for me that is “No Idea at all” in terms of the materials, crafting and purpose of loots.
I have lots of loots kasi and i dunno what is the purpose of those, I do know its for crafting but hindi ko alam if what specific item can I aquire to those materials.

Sorry newbie here, new to RO hehe
Im lvl 47 hunter and decided to start a new character (Knight) again para ma’i-tama ko yung mga pagkakamali ko hahaha
Thanks in advance sa response, it is so much appreciated sir.

    • Hi japeth, as a veteran player, i can say that the gameplay has changed entirely. unlike the online counterpart that does not rely on quests AT ALL, you cannot live without quests on this one.

i suggest you keep every bit of loot you can get your hands on since you can never know what items the quests will ask for. using google and youtube for reference is still not guaranteed since the game is still in its open beta version and most of the players are relying on what they know from the online version which is still quite different.

once you have a better grasp of what to do with those items, you’ll be glad you kept them. hope my advice helps 🙂

    • Anong pagkakamali? Lahat may reset so don’t be afraid to experiment. Focused your build in leveling kaya maraming nakapure STR+AGI then reset kapag high level na. Lahat ng loots itabi nyo kasi need nyo yan later on (even sa board quest).

  19. where can i see the remaining minutes before exhaustion?

    • More -> Settings -> next to your avatar

  20. Any tips for the “No Idea at all” in terms of materials and crafting? I have lots of loots kasi and I dunno what is the purpose of those. Though I know na for crafting sya, hindi ko naman alam if what specific weapon/gear will I aquire to be crafted of those materials.
Sorry for newbie question haha new to RO kasi ako and I’m level 47 Hunter na but hindi ko talaga ma-gets yung mechanics ng game in terms of crafting.
I decided to make a new character to enjoy more of the game, any tips and tricks sir specially for my new character (Knight)
Thank you in advance, it is so much appreciated sir.
and btw, nice article. Probably will do that routine of yours.
