Ragnarok M: Eternal Love fast leveling tips

Now that Gravity’s Ragnarok M: Eternal Love (SEA) is on its Open Beta Testing phase, I’ve decided to give it a try since the Ragnarok franchise has been one of my favorite MMORPGs ever since I was a kid. If you are a beginner and are starting from square one, the game may seem a bit confusing due to the high number of things that you can do. Here are basic tips on how you can maximize leveling up your characters without spending a single dime. Check it out!

Questing

This is probably the most obvious tip amongst those in this guide. Story and side quests are scattered all over different parts of the map, especially in towns and cities. However, I suggest that you shouldn’t binge-quest all the way as there’s a more important game mechanic that comes into play in this game.

Saint equipment

The Fantasy Circus Generators contain gacha headgear, equipment, and cards that are good for beginners who don’t have high-powered weapons and armors yet. Aside from the powerful stats that each piece of equipment provides, there’s also an increase in Base EXP gain. You can find the generators near the South Gate of Prontera.

While technically these are premium items (you’ll need to buy cash shop currency to pull), the game is currently handing out free tickets to celebrate it’s Open Beta launch. So in the meantime, it’s still considered as a free method. Each gacha roll for the equipments require 10 pink tickets while the headgears cost 30 blue tickets.

You can get at least 30 pink tickets if you pre-registered by talking to Miu (found in the balcony near Prontera’s lower central area) while more than 30 blue tickets will be provided (will only last until December 1, 2018) by speaking to Tylin (found in the upper central area) and availing the Adventurer Bag reward daily for 5 days.

Monster Resistance Quest

The “Monster Resistance” quest provides 10x your normal exp gain when killing monsters per day. Yes, you read that correctly, you can take this “quest” when you reach level 22. The Messenger Monster Watcher NPC will be present in each main town that you visit so you don’t have to worry about finding him. The catch, however, is that there’s an exp threshold of the increased exp rate that the player can receive during the quest.

Note: The quest can be stackable up to 6 times which means users can stack up to three days worth of exp threshold.

Grinding

This is arguably the most essential system in the game. Grinding monsters will take a lot of time but thanks to the Auto-Attack mechanic, that won’t be much of a problem. The catch, however, is that in order to prevent players from abusing grinding, Gravity implemented a Combat Time system. This system lets users receive normal exp and loot gain under a given time limit of combat. Reaching the limit and going beyond it will activate the system called Combat Fatigue which will gradually decrease the exp and loot rate over time on each character. Here are the rules:

  • When the specified daily combat limit is exceeded, the experience and loot rate will begin to decrease.
  • The combat duration is restored to 300 minutes at 5:00 AM (GMT +7) daily, and the unused combat duration can be accumulated up to a max of 600 minutes. (Maximum total: 900 min).
  • PVP is not included in the combat duration. MINI and MVP are not affected by the rules of loot reduction.
  • If you are in a team during the reduction period, you alone will be bound by the rules of reduction and your Party member will not be affected.
  • If you and your Party members are on the same map, the combat duration will be shared with all Party members in the map.
  • The Mentor who holds a valid Premium can earn 30% of the effective combat duration from different students, up to a maximum of 120 minutes of effective combat duration per day.

Reaching Combat Fatigue is a huge bummer for us players but, we can retrieve some of our Combat time just by listening to the Music Box located at the South Gate of Prontera. To activate it, just press the music box to open the track list. Activating the song will require you to stay in the area where you can hear the music. A maximum of 60 minutes can be recovered which should be plenty enough to grind once more before the day ends.

Note: Anyone can put in a song which can also be heard by everyone in the same area and channel.

Tip: I would rather exhaust my Combat Time first before doing any story-based and side quests, this is because the exp gain from quests isn’t affected by combat fatigue.

Lightning Chain

Lightning Chains are one of the essential boosting items in the game. Using this will amplify your EXP and loot gain as long as you don’t reach Combat Fatigue. You can purchase this in the Event Items shop, just under Miu’s position in Prontera, or acquire it by participating in event quests and rewards.

Tip: Use Lightning Chain when you decide to do the Monster Resistance quest to maximize the exp gain of your character.

Mission Board

Last, but not the least, is the Mission Board which gives tons of EXP. Players can get any posted quests in the board but they can only take up to 10 per day. Again, due to the Open Beta celebration, there are currently board quests that give out twice their normal rewards.

To give you a glimpse, here’s the order of how I do things daily:

  • Grinding (farming for materials) + Lightning Chain (Exhaust Combat Time)
  • Listen to Music Box
  • Grinding
  • Mission Board
  • Monster Resistance Quest
  • Questing

Updated as of 11/05/18.

Important Notes:

  • Daily reset happens every 5:00 AM (GMT +7)
  • Combat Time refreshes 300 minutes daily
  • Mission Board refreshes both in the morning and the afternoon
  • Monster Resistance can be taken up to 2 times daily
  • A lot of combinations can be made to suit your leveling routines so don’t be afraid to experiment to fit your taste.

And that’s it! I hope this boosts your leveling and grinding knowledge in the game. If you have more tips, tricks, and suggestions, leave them in the comments section below. See you in the game!

  1. This is super helpful. Naglalaro kasi ako ng Ragna before and i noticed na andaming nagbago. Now alam ko na ang strategy par mas mabilis ang pag-level up. Thanks 🙂

    • I’m glad this guide gave you a headstart on how to level up fast 😀 Kitakits in-game!

  2. hello!
Youve said you would rather exhaust your Combat Time first before doing any quest, so where do gonna spend it instead?
btw nice article! ? very helpful content!

    • Hi Ony! I’m currently spending it on hunting materials such as Coal, Garlet, Steel, etc… from different monsters in order to craft better equipments.

It’s actually hitting two birds with one stone since you’re gaining exp while farming materials 🙂

  3. Hahaha IGN ng isang player sa pic “Ratbu”.

    • guild name yun lols

  4. Nice! but I wasnt informed that it is a random pick when you invest on that saint equipment thingy.

    • Hi DK! As stated in the guide, the Saint Equipments can be obtained via Fantasy Circus Generators which uses a system called “Gacha”. This is very similar to Gashapons where you’ll get random items upon spending a certain currency on the machine 🙂

  5. Thanks for the info. First time ko maglaro ng RO and these info will help me a lot!
    ^_________^)!

    • I’m glad that this will help you, Marc! Happy levelling and see you in game!

  6. What is that musical notes equipment that you’re wearing?

    • It’s called “For Alice”. It’s the one that I got when I used the Gacha Headgear generator 🙂

  7. buy also vip/premium card for 100 month.. im level 49 now..
many reach 2nd job after 2 days only…
nakaka 600 mins per day ako nun kakaistart pa lang..

    • Hi namshin! I stated in the article that this guide will not cost any real money to boost their levels 🙂

    • Hi Vaughn, you can actually buy VIP ticket in the Auction House / Exchange using Zeny! It’ll help the player level up fast for a month without spending a dime too ^_^

      (Item is called Premium Novice)

      • Thanks for the clarification, Arkanghel! However, the price of the Premium ticket is over 1 million Zeny in which beginners could not afford yet so it’s not really recommended to do it.

  8. hi. tanong ko lng sana. wala kasi indication nka lagay if gaano katagal duration nung 399 na premium?

    • Hi EeyanN, as stated in the game’s description of the premium functions, it lasts for 31 days 🙂

  9. Ill give it a shot later. tnx for the tips

  10. Thanks sa guide, very helpful specially for new players of ragna like me 😀

  11. Paano po gamitin ung big cat credit card?bumili kasi ako ng premium tapos meron ako nun..para san po un?ty

    • big cat credit card, kapag bumili ka ng ITEMS/WEAPONS sa exchange pwede mo syang I-gift sa friend mo instead na sayo mapupunta. for example bumili ka ng katar of quaking with the price of 1M zenny may options na ibibgay sayo sa exchange na “I-REDEEM” or “I-send to a friend” kapag ibibgay mo sa friend you will need 1M big cat credit plus small fee of abt 10k zenny. so ibig sabihin kung anong price ng binili mo sa exchange ganun din kadaming big cat credit ang need mo para mairegalo mo sya sa friend mo.

  12. Would you say you avoid overlapping grinding with mission board questing and monster resistance questing? Thanks for the great info!

  13. Hello! Regarding your daily order, hindi ba titigil effect ng chain after exhausting combat time?

    • Hi RN, i’ve updated my daily routine 🙂

  14. Hi,

    Question about your daily routine.

    1. Grinding (Exhaust Combat Time)
    2. Mission Board
    3. Lightning Chain + Monster Resistance Quest
    4. ….

I get why you do Board Mission (lvl % exp reward) then Monster Resistance Quest (lvl % exp reward) but why exhaust Combat time in step 1 but and use Lightning Chain on step 3?

My Idea to optimize daily grind:

    1. Exhaust Combat Time (300/300)
    2. Board Mission
    3. Music (300/360)
    4. Monster Resistance Quest
    5. Quest

    • When will you use your lightning chain then?

      • Ideally, you can use it when you are farming for materials while grinding 🙂

    • Use the chain when you’re doing the monster resistance quest (2x daily) which is x10 exp + the chain.

  15. Hi. Would you suggest completing mission boards upon reaching combat fatigue? Will the EXP gain be affected if I do it that way? I was thinking to exhaust my combat time when grinding etc. then do quests and all the 10 missions boards afterwards. Thanks for the advise.

    • That depends if you need the extra EXP when hunting monsters during the mission boards. You can also simply finish them by purchasing an instant ticket to prevent combat time loss.

  16. Di ba nag pause yung lightning chain pag ubos na ung stamina? Anong point to use it AFTER you used up your stamina?

  17. Hi. You exhaust combat time first before the Monster Resistance (+Lightning Chain). Di ba mas mamaximize yung mons.res+chain pag di pa combat fatigued? Curious lang. Hehe. Thanks.

    • Hi JM, i’ve updated my daily routine 🙂

  18. ung event items po ba eh 1 character per account lang o pag gumawa ka ulit ng character sa same account mag kakaroon rin un?. gaya ng 1st character mo

    • one per character per account lang po yung event items.

  19. in regards po dun sa daily routine niyo. ung sa part na monster resistance + chain, ung chain kasi nagpapaused siya pagcombat fatigue na so di na siya gagana pag naexhaust mo na ung stamina. tho nevertheless great article, it really help players level up efficiently. Thanks for the infos stated im the article !

    • Hi Andreeanna, thanks for the feedback! I’ve also figured that it is indeed better to combine lightning chains and grinding instead of pairing it with the monster resistance quest.

  20. hindi na.

    • pyar katihe sut sut tahi wale kell lingg dokk diii amm dii amm naa..
