Microsoft has announced an agreement to acquire the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, the ZeniMax Media, for USD 7.5 billion.
The acquisition gives the Microsoft Xbox ownership of Zenimax Media’s franchises such as DOOM, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls, Dishonoured, Fallout, and many more.
Bethesda is known for its accomplished creative studios made possible by its game developers and publishers across Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios which are the gaming studios behind The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein, DOOM, Dishonored, Prey, Quake, Starfield, among others.

Furthermore, Microsoft Xbox also stated that it will bring Bethesda’s iconic franchises to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. Bethesda’s upcoming games will also be added to the said platform.
