Monster Hunter Wilds Cracks Down on Cheaters in Latest Update

Capcom is taking a stand against cheating in Monster Hunter Wilds, following concerns that unscrupulous players were gaining an unfair advantage in the new time-based quests introduced with Title Update 1. The update, which has already rolled out to fans, brings a host of fresh content including new monsters like Mizutsune and a high-rank version of Zoh Shia, along with a slew of new story quests, side missions, armor, weapons, and skills.

In response to community worries about cheaters dominating the competitive timed quests available via the Arena Quest Counter in the new MHW Grand Hub, Capcom has announced a strict crackdown. The developers are now actively monitoring for fraudulent ranking activity and have promised to take decisive action against any accounts found using cheats or external tools. This means that players caught cheating could face account suspensions or restrictions on earning rewards—not just for individual offenders, but for entire teams if any member is proven to be engaging in prohibited behavior.

Capcom has urged the community to help maintain a level playing field by reporting any suspicious activity directly from the hunter’s profile screen. This call to action reinforces the company’s commitment to ensuring that Monster Hunter Wilds remains a fair and engaging experience for everyone, especially as the game continues to expand its offerings with up to 10 gigs of new material in this update.

The crackdown comes at a critical time, as the latest update also kicks off the Festival of Accord—a major in-game event running from April 23 to May 6, 2025. This event, along with the revamped time-based quests, is designed to reinvigorate the community and celebrate the spirit of competition within Monster Hunter Wilds. With new content and a renewed focus on fair play, Capcom is working to secure the integrity of the game while keeping players engaged in its ever-evolving world.

As the update reshapes the gameplay experience, the company’s decisive action against cheating is expected to restore confidence among dedicated hunters and set a precedent for future competitive events. Fans and newcomers alike now have even more reason to dive back into Monster Hunter Wilds and experience the game as it was meant to be played—challenging, immersive, and fair.
