Warner Bros. Sparks Outrage as Fan-Favorite Cartoon Network Games Vanish Without Warning

In a move that has left both fans and developers reeling, Warner Bros. has quietly removed several popular Cartoon Network-licensed games from digital storefronts. The sudden delisting includes beloved titles like Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest, Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes, and the Steven Universe games (Save the Light and Unleash the Light). This decision, unannounced and unexplained, has sparked widespread frustration within the gaming community.

The removals were first flagged by Wario64 on Twitter, and subsequent searches across platforms like Best Buy and Amazon revealed that console versions of these titles have also been affected. The situation mirrors Warner Bros.’ earlier delisting of Adult Swim Games’ indie catalog, which had drawn sharp criticism from developers and gamers alike. However, in that instance, developers were at least given advance notice—a courtesy seemingly absent this time around.

Indie studio Grumpyface Games, known for their work on the Steven Universe: The Light Trilogy and Teeny Titans, expressed their dismay in a heartfelt tweet:

“We are not involved with the decision to delist our Steven Universe: The Light Trilogy games or our Teeny Titans games. We are also unable to speak on it further. All questions about the sunsetting of the games should be sent to Cartoon Network and WB. We are heartbroken.”

The lack of communication from Warner Bros. has amplified frustrations. As of now, the company has not issued an official statement or explanation for these delistings, leaving fans in the dark about the fate of their favorite games. Gamers who had planned to revisit these nostalgic titles—or experience them for the first time—are finding themselves locked out, as the delistings have occurred across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.

This move has also reignited concerns about the preservation of digital gaming media. Many are questioning the sustainability of an industry increasingly dependent on digital storefronts, where corporate decisions can erase titles with no warning. Gamers and preservationists alike are calling for better practices, urging publishers to offer permanent options for ownership or ensure legacy titles remain accessible.

The broader implications for game developers are equally troubling. Grumpyface Games’ statement highlights the disempowerment of creators, who often have no say in the fate of their work once it’s tied to large publishers. Fans and creators alike are rallying online to demand transparency and accountability from Warner Bros., with some speculating that licensing agreements or cost-cutting measures could be behind the decision.

For gamers, this serves as yet another reminder of the fragility of digital-only content. With Warner Bros.’ silence adding to the frustration, many are left wondering: what game might disappear next?
