Street Fighter 6 Heroes Set to Invade Monster Hunter Wilds in Fresh Capcom Crossover

Capcom is sharpening its blades — and its fists — for another universe-spanning mash-up. After a string of cheeky social-media teasers, the publisher all but confirmed that a Street Fighter 6 x Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration is on the verge of being revealed, with a dedicated trailer scheduled to drop later today, May 22 (PHT). Fans first spotted a stuffed Rathalos plush photobombing Street Fighter 6’s “Here Comes a New Challenger” screen, followed by photos of Chun-Li’s life-size statue flanking one of Monster Hunter’s signature Buster Swords and a Hadoken input graphic captioned “something down-right fierce is coming.”

The timing lines up with Capcom’s previously announced end-of-May title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, which Game8 reports will patch the game to version 1.011 and unlock the first batch of Capcom-collab quests. These limited-time events traditionally award themed layered-armor sets, weapon skins, and Palico gear, echoing earlier crossovers that let hunters cosplay as Ryu and Sakura back in Monster Hunter World.

While we wait for the trailer, it’s worth noting that both franchises are enjoying banner years. Monster Hunter Wilds smashed company records with 10 million units sold in just one month after its February launch, thanks in part to day-one cross-play and a streamlined “Focus Mode” that welcomes newcomers. Meanwhile, Street Fighter 6 has quietly pushed its lifetime sales to 4.67 million copies, buoyed by a resurgent esports scene and steady character pass rollouts.

Capcom’s fighters are already making moves outside their own ring; Overwatch 2’s Street Fighter 6 event went live this week, dressing eight Blizzard heroes in iconic SF6 garb and running until June 2. The rapid-fire crossovers suggest Capcom is doubling down on brand synergies to keep both titles in the conversation ahead of summer showcase season.

Exactly what monster-slaying goodies Ryu, Chun-Li, and company will bring to the Forbidden Lands remains to be seen. Historically, collaborations have included gesture emotes (Hadoken, anyone?), special hunter titles, and themed weapons — picture a Charge Blade styled after Ryu’s headband or a Dual Blades set mimicking Chun-Li’s spiked bracelets. Capcom’s teaser slogan “All will be revealed” hints that the trailer may also confirm release dates for the event quests and any paid DLC extras.

Stay tuned to Capcom’s official YouTube and Monster Hunter social channels later today for the full unveil. We’ll update this story as soon as the trailer lands — until then, polish your Great Sword and practice those quarter-circles.
