Riot Games Launches In-Game Fundraisers in VALORANT and League of Legends for LA Wildfire Relief

Riot Games has announced a new initiative to aid relief efforts for the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles. Beginning next week, the company will activate in-game fundraisers in VALORANT and League of Legends, with proceeds going toward wildfire relief efforts. These initiatives reflect Riot’s commitment to supporting the city it calls home, as Los Angeles battles fires that have already destroyed hundreds of homes and caused billions of dollars in damage.

Starting January 22nd, VALORANT players will see the EX.O skin collection converted into a Give Back Bundle, with proceeds directly benefiting the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. This follows the game’s tradition of launching fan-voted Give Back Bundles, where typically 50% of skin sales and 100% of accessory sales go toward charitable causes. The EX.O bundle will be available until January 30th, giving players a limited-time opportunity to contribute through in-game purchases.

Meanwhile, League of Legends will bring back the Firefighter Tristana skin, originally released in 2010. This ultra-rare skin, which has been in high demand among League players, will be available in the shop from January 23rd to February 5th. A portion of the sales will contribute to the wildfire relief efforts, allowing League players to support the cause while collecting a sought-after legacy skin.

The initiative was further highlighted during today’s VALORANT Champions Tour Americas broadcast, where Head of VALORANT Esports Leo Faria encouraged fans to donate to the California Fire Foundation and the International Medical Corps. Riot’s response to the disaster goes beyond in-game initiatives. The company has been actively assisting affected communities by providing temporary housing and stipends for displaced employees, donating meals to those in need, and even supplying a backup generator to a fire station that had lost power.

Riot has pledged long-term support for both the immediate crisis and the extended recovery efforts in Southern California. With wildfires becoming an increasing threat in the region, the company’s approach signals a deeper commitment to aiding its local community beyond just this moment.

For players, this fundraiser provides a chance to directly support those impacted while also gaining exclusive in-game content. With the EX.O Give Back Bundle in VALORANT and Firefighter Tristana in League, Riot is once again using its massive gaming platform to drive positive real-world impact.
