PUBG Mobile launches cloud version for Android users in closed beta

PUBG Mobile has introduced a groundbreaking cloud version, offering players the ability to enjoy the game without downloading its full resources. This innovative feature is now in a closed beta phase for Android users in select regions, specifically Malaysia and the United States, and will run until Jan. 4, 2025.

The cloud version caters to players who face limitations with device storage or processing power, providing a streamlined experience without compromising gameplay quality. By utilizing cloud technology, PUBG Mobile ensures that players can engage in the same thrilling battle royale experience while avoiding the common pitfalls of overheating and excessive storage use.

Players using the cloud version will still have access to all the features of the full game, including realistic shooting mechanics, diverse maps, and multiple modes. This includes the newly introduced Icemire Frontier-themed mode, where players can explore Frostheim and Magic Crystal Mines, collect ice crystal crates, and challenge the Frostborne Dragon for exclusive rewards.

The closed beta, which began on Dec. 5, 2024, is available through the Google Play Store or as a downloadable .apk file from the official PUBG Mobile website. The beta phase will last for 30 days, giving participants a chance to test the cloud version’s functionality before a broader rollout.

PUBG Mobile’s foray into cloud gaming reflects the industry’s growing focus on accessibility and convenience. By eliminating the need for large downloads, the game opens its doors to a wider audience, including those with lower-spec devices. This move also aligns with broader trends in mobile gaming, where cloud-based solutions are increasingly enabling high-quality gameplay without the constraints of hardware limitations.

With the potential for a global launch on the horizon, PUBG Mobile Cloud is set to change how players experience one of the world’s most popular battle royale games, making it more inclusive and accessible than ever.
