Clash of Clans fans have a lot to celebrate with the release of the highly anticipated Town Hall 17 update. Supercell’s latest addition comes packed with thrilling features, including a new defensive trap, a brand-new hero, a unique troop, advanced buildings, and more to cap off the year on a high note.
The highlight of the update is the revamped Town Hall 17, which introduces the powerful Inferno Artillery by combining the Eagle Artillery with the Town Hall itself. This upgraded defense can target both ground and air units, launching four enemy-seeking explosives. With a range of 12 tiles and up to 75 damage per second (DPS), it ensures that attackers will have to think twice before approaching. Upgrading to Town Hall 17 requires a Level 16 Town Hall and Level 7 Eagle Artillery, costing 20 million gold and taking 15 days to complete.
Once upgraded, players unlock new buildings and defenses, including an Archer Tower, a Multi-Archer Tower, a Ricochet Cannon, a Giant Bomb, a Seeking Air Mine, and the all-new Giga Bomb. The Giga Bomb is a defensive trap that deals damage within a 4.5-tile radius but comes with a slight delay, giving enemy troops a slim chance to escape.
The update also introduces the Minion Prince, a dark-themed hero available from Town Hall 9. Equipped with its unique Dark Orb and Henchmen Puppet, this flying unit specializes in aerial attacks while summoning tanky melee minions to weaken defenses.
For troops, the Thrower makes its debut at Town Hall 16. This long-range single-target unit is relatively tanky but features a slower attack speed, making it a strategic addition to the game.
On the defensive side, the Firespitter marks the signature defense for Town Hall 17. With a massive 434 DPS and a 16-tile range, it can deal splash damage to both air and ground units, making it a formidable threat to invading armies.
The update also introduces the Revive Spell, a game-changing addition unlocked at Town Hall 15. This spell can revive fallen heroes within an 8-tile radius, restoring up to 60% of their health, adding a new layer of strategy to battles.
Among the new buildings, the Hero Hall stands out. Available from Town Hall 7, this structure allows players to manage their heroes in one place. Upgrading the Hero Hall increases hero level caps, unlocks new heroes, and allows more heroes to be deployed in battles. For instance, players starting from Town Hall 13 can assign up to four heroes for attacks or defenses.
Additional buildings include the Helper Hut and the Lab Assistant. The Helper Hut supports the Builder’s Apprentice, requiring 1 million Elixir and no building time. Meanwhile, the Lab Assistant focuses on reducing laboratory upgrade times. At its max level, it cuts lab upgrade times by 12 hours daily, significantly speeding up progress.
With such a massive array of new features, the Town Hall 17 update promises to elevate Clash of Clans gameplay to new heights, keeping its community engaged and excited for what’s to come.
