Krafton, the studio behind PUBG, announced that their highly-anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, will be delayed until March 28, 2025, as the development team takes extra time to refine the game for a stronger launch. Originally scheduled to release in Early Access this year, inZOI has garnered attention as a potential competitor to The Sims 4, promising hyper-realistic graphics and an immersive life simulation experience.
Producer and director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim shared the news in a recent Discord post, where he emphasized the importance of player feedback in shaping inZOI‘s development. After extensive playtesting, including feedback on the inZOI: Character Studio demo, Krafton decided to delay the game to ensure it launches with a “complete and polished experience.” Kjun explained that the team sees the game as something that requires “extra love and care” — comparing the development process to “raising a human child.” He expressed that the delay allows the studio to build a “stronger foundation” that will support the game’s long-term success.
The inZOI character creator has already wowed fans with its impressive range of customization options, hinting at the game’s hyper-realistic focus and commitment to detail. This follows a wave of recent, more advanced life sims like Life by You and Paralives, both of which have struggled to deliver on their ambitious goals. Krafton’s delay shows a commitment to quality in a genre where expectations have grown, especially for fans who’ve been eagerly awaiting a viable Sims competitor.
Kjun reassured fans that the studio is “striving to create a game that truly captures the essence of life simulation” with a foundation designed to keep players engaged for years. The decision may disappoint those hoping to dive in this year, but it signals Krafton’s dedication to delivering a genre-defining experience when inZOI finally arrives in early 2025.
