Pokemon Home now available

Pokemon has released its cloud-based storage service, Pokemon Home. The app was first announced in 2019.

Pokemon Home lets its users manage their collection of over multiple Pokemon games. By linking their Nintendo accounts to the Nintendo Switch version and mobile version of the app, users can then access their Pokemon boxes on either version. Pokemon Home also lets its users trade Pokemon, receive Mystery Gifts, see Battle Data, receive Pokemon news, earn Pokemon Home points, and view the National Pokedex.

While the app is available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices, there are some differences to them. The Nintendo Switch version doesn’t allow users to trade, receive Mystery Gifts, and check Battle Data and News. On the other hand, the mobile versions don’t allow the players to move Pokemon from one game to another. The mobile version also does not allow the exchange of Pokemon Home Point for Battle Points (BP).

An optional Pokemon Home Premium Plan is also available for players to purchase. Under a Premium Plan, users can transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Bank to Home, raise the deposited limit, place 10 Pokemon in the Wonder Box, have 3 Pokemon in the Global Trade System, participate and host Room Trades, and also use a Judge function. The Pokemon Home Premium Plans are priced as follows:

  • 1 month – USD 2.99
  • 3 months – USD 4.99
  • 12 months – USD 15.99

Games compatible with Pokemon Home are: Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokemon Bank. Compatibility with Pokemon GO will be available in the near future.

Pokemon Home is free to download and use on the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
