A recent bug in Forza Motorsport has unexpectedly delighted fans by introducing an unplanned free-roam feature within the game’s Photomode. This glitch allows players to wander through the home area in ways previously inaccessible, adding a new layer of exploration to the game’s usually limited garage space.
Activating the bug is surprisingly simple. When selecting “View Car” and then “Photomode” from the top menu in the home screen, players can move freely around the garage area, bypassing walls and stepping outside the building boundaries. Though the range is limited, players can pass through walls and venture outdoors into spaces normally hidden from view.
While there are restrictions—such as limited elevation changes and a “moat” of darkness surrounding the building—this unplanned feature reveals a surprisingly detailed environment. For example, there are buildings, signs, and even vehicles set up beyond the visible garage space. One quirky detail is an intersection that displays both English and French road signs, suggesting that the garage may be modeled after a bilingual Canadian area or somewhere in New England.
Inside the garage, players can find an array of modeled items: from tool racks, posters, and sticky notes to low-resolution Polaroid snapshots scattered around surfaces. A particularly fun discovery for Forza fans is the appearance of a familiar whiteboard, associated with Torben Ellert’s teaser messages in Forza Horizon titles. However, this whiteboard doesn’t appear to reveal any hints for future updates—though it would have been a fun addition!
While this bug is likely to be patched in an upcoming update, it’s provided a unique opportunity for Forza Motorsport players to take a closer look at the game’s world. For now, the home area free-roam offers an unexpected adventure—one fans will enjoy exploring before it potentially disappears in a future fix.
