Elgato Unveils “Stream Deck Everywhere”: Stick Custom Macro Keys into Any Gear

Elgato is breaking the mold with its new “Stream Deck Everywhere” initiative, announced this week at Computex 2025. Rather than confining its popular macro keypad to a single desktop device, the company is now offering software, hardware modules, and even networked accessories so users can embed Stream Deck controls into virtually any setup.

At the heart of the rollout are the Stream Deck Modules—unbranded, bare-bones key arrays in 6-, 15-, and 32-button configurations. Each module houses the same vivid OLED keys found on Elgato’s consumer units but in a rugged aluminum chassis designed for builders, OEMs, and DIY enthusiasts. Whether you’re integrating controls into custom desks, broadcast consoles, or bespoke machinery, these modules start at $49.99 and promise volume discounts for bulk orders.

That hardware expansion pairs with a software-only option: the Virtual Stream Deck. Powered by the forthcoming Stream Deck 7.0 beta, this on-screen macro pad can float over your desktop or be summoned via hotkey—no physical device required. Initially available to Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless SE and Xenon Edge users (as well as existing Stream Deck owners), the Virtual Stream Deck will eventually roll out more broadly and remains free to use, sidestepping the subscription fees charged for mobile faceplates and custom layouts.

For pros craving ultra-precise feedback, Elgato is also launching a scissor-switch variant of its MK.2 Stream Deck. Trading the original rubber domes for laptop-style scissor mechanisms, the $149.99 model delivers sharper actuation and a stronger click feel—opening doors to text-heavy workflows and even laying groundwork for a potential full-blown Stream Deck keyboard down the road.

Rounding out the lineup is an $79.99 PoE-ready network dock, which connects Stream Deck modules over standard Ethernet and supplies both power and data through a single jack. Ideal for sprawling studio installations or remote kiosks, the dock ships in August and offers far greater placement flexibility than USB alone.

“Elgato Stream Deck isn’t just a device—it’s become a platform,” said Julian Fest, Elgato’s General Manager. “With software, modules, scissor keys, and network docks, we’re opening up Stream Deck to builders, developers, and manufacturers who want to embed our proven interface into their own products.”

From live streamers to control-room engineers, Elgato’s “Stream Deck Everywhere” strategy promises to democratize macro controls—no longer tied to a single desk gadget but ready to live in walls, racks, or even on your laptop screen.
