A new Elden Ring mod has Souls like fans buzzing, swapping out the familiar Roundtable Hold with the iconic hub of Majula from Dark Souls 2. This mod, created by Drop0ff and now available on Nexus Mods, merges two of From Software’s beloved dark fantasy worlds, allowing players to explore Majula’s atmospheric coastal town within Elden Ring.

Since Elden Ring’s launch in 2022, its community has seen an ever-growing catalog of mods, each adding fresh spins and nostalgic callbacks to other FromSoftware games. With Elden Ring crowned Game of the Year shortly after its release, and more recently boosted by the 2024 Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, fans have been eager to keep exploring new ways to enjoy the Lands Between. Now, Majula’s addition brings a fresh experience to veteran Souls fans, complete with the original location’s bottomless well, atmospheric music, and a relocation of Roundtable NPC quests to fit seamlessly into the new hub. Players diving into New Game Plus mode will find that Majula’s Victor’s Stone stands in for the typical bonfire.

The Soulslike community has been quick to praise the Majula Hub mod, with many fans already asking for Bloodborne maps to make similar appearances in Elden Ring. The idea of an expansive “FromSoftwareInfinity” mod, which would allow seamless travel between hubs of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, has also gained traction among fans. This blend of familiar hub worlds stirs nostalgia while fueling speculation about whether FromSoftware’s next game might revisit the more enclosed, traditional base-style hubs seen in earlier titles, like Demon’s Souls.

In Elden Ring, the Roundtable Hold has its own lore and role within the story. Unlike Majula, which players freely explore in the world of Dark Souls 2, the Roundtable Hold is accessible only by fast travel and unlocks after a pivotal moment with Melina, serving as the main base where players meet allies, acquire blessings, and prepare for the next journey. While the Majula Hub mod changes the aesthetic and atmosphere, it doesn’t alter the vital role of this hub within Elden Ring’s journey.

As fans await news of a possible Elden Ring definitive edition rumored for Nintendo’s next-gen Switch, mods like these keep the game fresh and engaging, adding new layers to the adventure in the Lands Between.
