Blizzard is bringing together two of its biggest franchises for a thrilling crossover event between Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft. The event, named Eternal War, will run for four weeks, offering players a chance to earn exclusive cosmetic rewards and take down one of Warcraft’s most infamous bosses.
Kicking off on November 13, the Eternal War event is set to pit Diablo Immortal players against World of Warcraft’s notorious Lich King, Arthas Menethil. This comes just months after the Shadows of the Frozen Throne event, which saw WoW’s undead Scourge invade Sanctuary. Now, Diablo fans are in for another cross-franchise treat. The Lich King battle will require a highly coordinated team of max-level characters, ensuring an epic challenge for those brave enough to face him.
As part of World of Warcraft’s 20th Anniversary celebrations, this event will bring a slice of Azeroth to Diablo’s Sanctuary. Players will have until December 11 to participate, with the event officially ending at 2:59 AM server time. To enter the fight against the Lich King, players will need to gather Fallen Citadel Gate items, which can be acquired by logging into Diablo Immortal, completing dungeons, and taking down rare monsters. This gives players another opportunity to snag limited-time rewards, including the coveted Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic and Icecrown Pathway Portal, which were previously available during Shadow of the Frozen Throne.
What’s at Stake? Exclusive Rewards and New Features
Diablo Immortal players who participate in the event will be able to earn legendary weapon skins based on iconic World of Warcraft weapons, like Gorehowl for Barbarians and Truthguard for Crusaders. Additionally, players can take on a new Conqueror PvP map called Cutthroat Basin, where they’ll have the chance to support the Warcraft Alliance or Horde factions. For fans who enjoy the aesthetic side of things, a new Murloc Familiar Skin for minions will also be available, providing unique fishing perks, such as doubling the amount of fish caught per hook.
On the flip side, World of Warcraft players who have reached level 10 in Diablo Immortal will unlock a new backpack cosmetic—a Treasure Nabbin’ Bag—to show off in Azeroth. This crossover not only offers exciting gameplay but also gives fans a chance to flaunt their unique rewards across both games.
With the Eternal War event lasting until December 11, there’s plenty of time for Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft fans to dive in and claim these special crossover rewards. For Blizzard fans, November and December just got a whole lot more exciting.
