Filipino FPS fans, get your triggers ready: Smilegate Entertainment is rolling the barrels back on Crossfire : Legends with a two-week Android-only alpha test that runs June 5-19 and is open exclusively to players in the Philippines. The comeback ends a five-year global hiatus for the mobile spin-off, which quietly stayed online only in China after its original worldwide servers were shuttered in 2020.
According to the updated listing on the Crossfire Wiki, Smilegate’s new publishing partner Level Infinite (Tencent’s global label) is spearheading the relaunch, and the company has chosen the Philippines as its first soft-launch market to stress-test local servers and gather balance feedback. The region already boasts a deep Crossfire esports scene, and the franchise was recently confirmed for the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, adding extra incentive to court Southeast-Asian talent early.
While full patch notes will land closer to test day, early teasers promise:
Registration is simple: head to the official Crossfire : Legends site, tap Sign Up, fill in a short survey with your email and mobile number, and clear a quick CAPTCHA. Smilegate says confirmation emails or SMS messages will go out on a rolling basis before the servers open on June 5; spots are limited, so preregister sooner rather than later.
First launched on PC in 2007, Crossfire grew into one of the world’s most-played FPS titles, especially in China and Brazil, and once surpassed one billion cumulative accounts. Its 2018 mobile port was downloaded tens of millions of times before licensing issues and rampant third-party hacks forced a sunset everywhere outside China. The new ACE-powered build aims to avoid that fate and re-establish a global player base in time for next year’s international tournaments.
If the alpha goes smoothly, sources close to Level Infinite say an open beta could follow in Q3, with iOS support arriving by year-end. For now, Filipino Android users get first dibs — and bragging rights — on testing the resurrected classic.
