Madden NFL 25’s November Update Brings Barkley’s Iconic Move and Major Roster Upgrades!

EA Sports has rolled out an exciting November update for Madden NFL 25, packed with new features, tweaks, and upgrades that aim to keep the game fresh and immersive. From a groundbreaking animation inspired by a real-life NFL moment to roster adjustments and expanded playbooks, this update has plenty to offer players.

Saquon Barkley’s Spin Hurdle Steals the Spotlight

The star of this update is a brand-new animation inspired by Saquon Barkley, the Philadelphia Eagles’ powerhouse running back. The “Saquon Spin Hurdle,” which replicates his jaw-dropping move from the Eagles’ November 3 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, is now a unique ability in the game.

To perform the move, players must control Barkley and time the hurdle button perfectly as a defender closes in at a 45-degree angle. Madden designer Spade, who witnessed Barkley’s real-life move, shared how it instantly stood out as a must-have addition to the game.

The November patch also shakes up Madden 25’s roster with five new X-Factor players, including:

  • C.J. Stroud (QB, Houston Texans)
  • Nico Collins (WR, Houston Texans)
  • Aidan Hutchinson (DE, Detroit Lions)
  • Antoine Winfield Jr. (S, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
  • Quinnen Williams (DT, New York Jets)

Additionally, 21 players received Superstar upgrades, such as Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers) and Jayden Daniels (Commanders). Meanwhile, some big names, including Aaron Rodgers (Jets) and Jalen Hurts (Eagles), saw their rankings drop.

Expanded Playbooks and Gameplay Fixes

Both offensive and defensive strategies got a refresh in this update. Defensive playbooks see enhancements to formations like Nickel Over and Nickel 2-4, while the Run & Shoot offensive playbook adds new plays across pistol and shotgun formations. Players can also enjoy a smoother experience with fixes to illegal formations, defensive alignments, and more.

Other Notable Changes

  • New Face Scans: 13 NFL players, including Tee Higgins and Joey Porter Sr., now have updated in-game likenesses.
  • Superstar Mode Upgrades: Seasonal vanity items like snowman helmets and candy cane capsules add a festive flair.
  • Franchise Mode Fixes: Improvements include better playoff timeline displays and refined depth chart adjustments.

Madden’s Record-Breaking Success Continues

This update comes on the heels of Madden NFL 25 maintaining its streak as the best-selling game during its launch month, a milestone it has achieved for 25 consecutive years. Even before its release, the game was a top-seller in July 2024, alongside EA College Football 25 in the MVP Bundle.

The November update solidifies Madden NFL 25’s status as a leader in sports gaming, blending real-life NFL highlights with dynamic gameplay enhancements. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise or a casual gamer, this update ensures there’s something new to explore on the virtual gridiron.
